None of those pictures are of the Isle of Wight.

Its a small island on the South Coast of the UK (population of about 180k). It's no hotter than anywhere else in the south of the UK. There are loads of beaches which are nice but no nicer than any you would find in cornwall or newquay.

There are a few 'clubs' but they are utter shite.

Jobs and accomodation? what do you want to know, are you thinking of moving there or something?

There are loads of great pubs, depends on what area of the island you plan on staying in. If you are going to be there for a few months and want a job you could get one as a tomato picker (haha), it's easy to do, the hours are ok and the pay is not bad either.

Hi

I live on the south coast and can see the Isle of Wight almost from home, and it's a nice place, but if I was coming from NZ ( and I have been there, great place ) I would think you will find IOW a bit 'sleepy'. Apart from the 2 music festivals they have, it's mainly old people and people with children and the pubs are very much geared towards the tourist industry.

There must be better places for you to work . . . . !

Hi Jessstar

Sorry for the delay - the 2 music festivals are : The Isle of Wight Festival held early June ( so already missed ) and Bestival ( held in Septmber but already sold out )

If you are coming in 2008, I would suggest googling these festival names around Feb for dates and tickets

There are lots of other music festivals being held in the UK this year, if you are coming over soon, you migt find this web site helpful www.efestivals.co.uk

Good luck !

Linda
